About the Unit

The Garnison Unit primarily serves as a supporting unit for other regiments and units within the Gothenburg garrison. As a Boat Chief, you belong to the Equipment Section, which is part of the Training and Support Department at the Garnison Unit. The Garnison Unit is part of the Älvsborg Amphibious Regiment, Amf4.

Main Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities include planning and executing the maritime transport activities within the Gothenburg Garrison, such as personnel/goods and shipyard transports, planning and partially performing preventive maintenance on your own boats, and participating in corrective maintenance work.

You should also be prepared to participate in and support unit exercises, as well as assist others at the garrison with other port activities.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • High school education or equivalent
  • Type trained on Combat Boat 90H and Boat Chief trained
  • Driver's license B
  • Approved medical examination for seagoing personnel
  • ROC (radio certificate)

Employment type: Fixed-term employment as a continuously serving soldier (GSS/K), 100%

The employment is based on the FM agreement for the employment of group leaders, soldiers, and sailors (GSS/K). This means fixed-term employment for up to eight years with the possibility of extension for four years. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period.

Start date for the position is by agreement.

Work location: Gothenburg. Travel in the service occurs, mainly within Sweden. Since activities may take place outside regular working hours, working hours may be shifted to evenings/nights and weekends.
